ABOUT ME

I research malware, phishing and disinformation as a Senior Researcher at The Citizen Lab.

Watch a recent talk at the CCC (w/brilliant colleague Bill Marczak), check out my publications, or read my personal research blog.

Want personalized advice on digital security? Check out the Security Planner, a collaborative project published by Citizen lab, which I edit.

In the past I’ve done work supporting the free and secure flow of information during conflicts. The Voices Projects, which helped bypass internet shutdowns in Egypt and Libya, are an example. I’m a past fellow at Google Ideas / Jigsaw at Alphabet. I’m working on a PhD at UCLA’s Luskin School of Public Affairs.
